Nandamuri Balakrishna starrer latest Telugu movie ‘Jai Simha’ earned Rs 22.9 crore worldwide box office collection in first weekend. Releasing on a good number of screens in south Indian states, the Tollywood movie bagged Rs 17.5 crore total income at Andhra Box office.
Showcasing better performance in Telugu speaking states, the latest south Indian film received highest response from film-watchers in the opening weekend. Witnessing huge theatre occupancy in the cinema halls across Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and nearby Telugu speaking regions, the movie collected a total income of Rs 9.6 crore.
Directed by K S Ravikumar, the action drama film faced average occupancy in the cinema halls situated in Ceded. The south Indian film gained moderate response from the moviegoers residing in that region and registered a business of Rs 3.8 crore in opening weekend.
Performing comparatively better in the theatres located at Nizam, the action film witnessed maximum occupancy in the cinema halls. Managing to attract a good number of audience in the cinema halls and multiplexes situated there, C Kalyan’s latest Telugu production garnered Rs 4.1 crore overall income in 3 days.
Apart from catching the attention of a huge audience in Telangana, Andhra Pradesh and other Telugu speaking regions, ‘Jai Simha’ succeeded in impressing the spectators in Karnataka. Grabbing a satisfactory response from the cinema-watchers in Kannada speaking state, the action drama film amassed Rs 2.2 crore total income in the initial weekend.
After pocketing average earnings in the domestic arena, Nayanthara starrer newly released south Indian film showcased admirable performance in the overseas. Divulging a great number of movie-watchers in United States, the movie generated a monetary profit of Rs 1.2 crore in three days.
Taking a silent start to the box office journey in international market, Natasha Doshi and Hariprriya starrer new Tollywood film earned US$ 108,980 through the previews. On Friday, the Telugu movie registered a business of US$ 28,526. Witnessing minor growth in the theatre occupancy, ‘Jai Simha’ minted US$ 31,678 on Saturday.
Earning a whopping amount of US$ 1,913,265 in two days, the Telugu film received steady response from audiences on Sunday. Releasing in limited number of countries in rest of the world, the multi-starrer drama movie earned Rs 2 crore income in the international market.
