New Hindi film ‘Aksar2’ reported a satisfactory occupancy in the theatres on Friday, 17th November 2017. Hitting limited number of screens in most of the states across the nation, the latest erotic thriller movie garnered good response from the film-watchers and earned Rs 1.56 crore on first day. The Bollywood movie witnessed about 15-25% occupancy on opening day.
Starring Zareen Khan, Gautam Rode, Mohit Madaan, Abhinav Shukla, S. Sreesanth and Sofia Hayat in the prominent roles, the second installment of ‘Aksar’ (2006) didn’t face any controversy before its release and hence its performance flourished on the 1st day of release. The romantic cinema fascinated a good number of film-watchers in the cinema halls.
‘Aksar 2’ marks the second erotic movie of Zareen Khan, who did bold scenes in ‘Hate Story 3’. Produced under the banner of ‘Siddhivinayak Creations’, the sequel of ‘Aksar’ garnered poor response in the foreign countries. Facing massive box office competition with the new Hollywood and English cinemas, the Indian movie collected decent income in the overseas market.
Famous director Anant Mahadevan’s directorial project experienced box office competition with parallelly released Hindi film ‘Tumhari Sulu’. Based on the life of a housewife who catches a job of radio jockey, the Bollywood movie too witnessed moderate footfalls in the cinema halls on opening day. Garnering mixed reviews from critics and audiences, both films are expected to exhibit improvement in the overall performance in opening weekend.
