Hindi movie ‘Kaalakaandi’ collects Rs 3.85 crore total box office income in 3 days

Witnessing 30% occupancy in the cinema halls, Saif Ali Khan starrer latest Bollywood movie ‘Kaalakaandi’ earned Rs 3.85 crore total box office collection in 3 days. The new Hindi film could not perform well in overseas and raked in poor earnings in the international market.

Releasing on 12th January 2018, the Hindi movie did not receive grand welcome in the theatres. Failing to impress the audiences, the movie received mixed reviews from the critics. The black comedy film, which also features Isha Talwar and Akshay Oberoi in major roles, faced decent occupancy and earned Rs 1.20 crore income on opening day.

Taking a silent start to the box office journey, Akshat Verma’s new directorial venture witnessed surprising growth in the public response on 2nd day. Facing increment in the response from movie-watchers, Rohit Khattar and Ashi Dua’s joint production amassed Rs 1.25 crore income on second day of release.

After pocketing a total monetary profit of Rs 2.45 crore in two days, the Hindi film witnessed consistent improvement in its performance at India’s box office on following day. Attracting huge number of audiences in cinema halls on Sunday, the Bollywood film earned Rs 1.40 crore on third day.

After earning a total business of Rs 3.85 crore in three days, the Hindi film failed to maintain consistency in its performance and witnessed drastic decline the theatre occupancy on Monday. Facing tremendous box office competition with Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif starrer new action movie ‘Tiger Zinda Hai’, the Bollywood movie received decent response on 4th day of release.

Adjacently released Bollywood movies ‘1921’ and ‘Mukkabaaz’ too exhibited poor performances in domestic arena. The two movies confronted with Ali Abbas Jafar’s directorial venture and struggled hard to divulge a great number of audiences. Though the films released on a good number of screens in India, they unfortunately failed to receive satisfactory response from the movie-goers.

Directed by ace filmmaker Anurag Kashyap, new Bollywood movie ‘Mukkabaaz’ witnessed decent occupancy in the opening weekend. Anand L Rai’s latest production did not receive maximum response from audiences in the first weekend and the film could not earn a double digit box office figure in initial three days.

On first day, the Hindi movie witnessed 10% to 15% occupancy in the morning and noon shows. The film collected Rs 0.85 crore on opening day. Taking a normal start to the journey on Indian box office, the Bollywood movie faced minor growth in the public response on following day and registered a business of Rs 1.51 crore on 2nd day.

After earning Rs 2.36 crore total box office collection in two days, the Hindi film showcased steady performance on Sunday. Failing to catch the attention of a huge audience, the sports drama movie earned Rs 1.71 crore on 3rd day of release. In first weekend, the movie collected Rs 4.04 income in India.

Zareen Khan starrer new horror movie ‘1921’ hit screens on January 12 this year. The film showcased better performance than the parallelly released Hindi movies. Directed by veteran filmmaker Vikram Bhatt, the horror movie bagged Rs 1.56 crore box office amount on the first day of release.

Featuring Karan Kundra in the leading role opposite Zareen Khan, the fourth film in 1920 franchise witnessed drastic growth in the public response on next day. Receiving satisfactory response from the cinema-watchers, the Bollywood movie registered a business of Rs 2.09 crore on Saturday.

Amassing a total income of Rs 3.65 crore in 2 days, the horror movie maintained consistency in its performance in the opening weekend. Continuing to gain a stagnant public response on Sunday, the movie collected Rs 2.80 crore amount on Indian box office. Produced under the banner of ‘Motion Picture Capital’, the Hindi film minted Rs 6.45 crore total box office collection in three days.
