Mahesh Babu starrer latest south Indian film ‘Spyder’ earned a total business of Rs 63.65 crore at Andhra box office in first weekend. The spy thriller movie minted Rs 130.25 crore worldwide income in five days. Releasing on more than 3000 screens across the globe, AR Murugadoss’s directorial venture emerged as the superhit blockbuster of this year.
The bilingual action thriller kicked off its box office journey with a whopping collection of Rs 51 crore. Breaking the records created by previous films of lead hero (Mahesh Babu), ‘Spyder’ earned Rs 23.40 crore on first day in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. On the same day, the film raked in Rs 27.60 crore from Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and rest of the world.
Witnessing a slight drop in the overall earnings on following days, Rakul Preet Singh and S J Suriya starrer newly released action movie collected Rs 21 crore on Thursday, Rs 19 crore on Friday, Rs 19.75 crore and Rs Rs 19.50 crore on Sunday. The movie surpassed 100 crore mark at Indian box office in the opening weekend and attained good rank in the list of highest grosser movies of 2017.
On other hand, Jr NTR starrer latest film ‘Jai Lava Kusa’ garnered Rs 108 crore total box office collection in ten days. Creating new records, the Telugu movie minted Rs 90 crore income in three days. Featuring Raashi Khanna and Niveda Thomas in main roles, the Tollywood film grossed Rs 150 crore worldwide collection. South Indian trade analysts called the film ‘sensational blockbuster’ for its incredible performance.
