Telugu superstar Mammootty to play Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister in ‘Yathra’

Telugu superstar Mammootty will be seen in the role of former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister in upcoming movie ‘Yathra’. The popular actor will essay the role of YS Rajasekhara Reddy in his next film. The movie’s story will be based on Reddy’s life between 1999 and 2004.

Filmmakers have revealed little information about the movie. The film will be jointly produced by Shashi Devi Reddy and Vijay Chilla. Movie’s director Mahi Raghav told media that he is busy writing script for the film and will soon finish the work. Filmmakers haven’t made an announcement about the film’s release date. Also the information about other actors and actresses, who will play supporting roles in the movie, is yet to be revealed.

Mommootty is presently gearing up for next films which are scheduled to be released in 2018. The south Indian actor is going to play main roles in those movies which are going to be released this year. He will be seen in the role of ‘Derek Abraham’ in upcoming Indian Malayalam-language movie ‘Abhrahaminte Santhathikal’. The film will be directed by Shaji Padoor. The movie also features famous actor Anson Paul in main role.

Mommootty is going play the role of ‘Amudhavan’ in upcoming bilingual (Tamil and Malayalam) movie ‘Peranbu’. The drama film features Sadhana and Anjali in major roles. Produced by P L Thenappan, the south Indian film is scheduled to be released on 4th May this year. Popular filmmaker Ram will be directing this movie.

‘Captain’ will be 2018’s third movie to star Mommootty. The megastar will be playing cameo role in this movie which is a Malayalam-language biographical sports drama film. Story of the movie revolves around the life of V P Sathyan, who was the former captain of the Indian national football team. Directed by Prajesh Sen, ‘Captain’ movie will be released worldwide on 16th February 2018.
